We escape to the woods whenever we can. A quick reset. A place to breathe.

One of our favorites is G.W. Hill Forest, a spot we’ve always called Mase’s Woods. It’s owned by NC State, permit required to use trails, which keeps the crowds away and the trails feeling like yours.

Mase learned to hike off-leash here. He went to sleep in 2025. We think about him every time we visit.
